Step into the colourful tale of HARLEQUIN Paints, it all began back in the last century, 1999 to be precise, founded by a trio of individuals deeply passionate about both paint and environmental consciousness. This unlikely alliance consisted of a paint applicator, a designer, and a chemist. This unique combination, however unconventional, has proven to be remarkably successful.
With these skills, it puts us in a unique position amongst other paint companies where we understand the whole journey of paint, from design concept through to manufacturing and getting the perfect finished application. HARLEQUIN Paints began by manufacturing water based paints and paint technique products in an old disused school (St Marys School) in Woodstock Cape Town but with the demand for our unique and innovative products we quickly out grew that location and moved to Paarden Eiland where we are today.
Initially our products included Wood washes (limewash) Colourwashes, Antique Glazes, Crackle Glazes and many more. HARLEQUIN Paints then developed a wide variety of water based sealers for all applications including furniture sealers, cement and wooden floor lacquers. A comprehensive range of water based primers for wood and plaster soon followed which we still manufacture.
The environment is important to us, using cutting edge paint technology from around the world we were the first in South Africa to create a comprehensive range of certified Solvent free paints. Whether it is our smooth Washable Matt or something with a slight sheen and not forgetting our incredible Water based Enamel for those doors and windows. We take immense pride in the fact that our products emit minimal to no paint odour, ‘Paint today and sleep tonight’
We at Harlequin paints are proud to say that our products are used in hotels, bars and restaurants. Using the latest technology, we have formulated a unique range of sterile coatings that are perfect for schools, hospital or gyms. Our products are fantastic for anyone with respiratory issues or for those that just hate the smell of paint.
All our products are made by us in our factory by our friendly team of staff who are here to help.
